Every few years I take a day to find a Salon who participates in the Locks of Love program and I donate my hair. They in turn provide you with a free hair cut (after cutting off the section of hair that is to be donated). Not all Salons participate in this beautiful worth while endeavor.
Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. The prostheses they provide help to restore children’s self-esteem and confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.
Today I decided it was my day to donate my hair. I called and found a Salon that participated in the Locks of Love program. It was “Master Cuts” in the McKinley Mall. The ladies in the salon were so great. The attitude was fun and upbeat and they treat you with the upmost respect. It is a place I would recommend, not only due to their generous nature in providing free hair cuts for such a wonderful cause but also for they great work.
Please call around and find a participating Salon near you if you decide to give the gift of hair to a worthy cause.
